Figure Drawing Masterclass

an intensive three - week program

Did you always want to learn to draw but never knew how to begin? Or maybe you’ve tried figure drawing before but felt a little lost? Life drawing is one of the most exciting and rewarding artistic practices—but it can feel intimidating at first. That’s where this masterclass comes in! Designed for beginners and intermediate artists, this course will break everything down into simple, easy-to-follow steps, helping you loosen up, build confidence, and improve fast.

What makes this class special?

  • A live model for every session – Get real practice drawing from life, the best way to improve. You will learn to observe and translate form onto paper.

  • Live teacher demos – Watch techniques in action before trying them yourself. Every technique is demonstrated live by Julian, giving you clear guidance.

  • Small group, personal feedback – A small group setting ensures tailored feedback to help you progress faster.

What You’ll Learn

  • Setting Up for Success – Set up your workspace, choose the right tools and learn how to actually hold your pencil.

  • Short & Long Poses – Quick sketches to capture movement + longer studies for details.

  • Shading & Details – Make your drawings pop with depth and contrast and by that learn how to add realism to your figures.

  • Abstraction & Flow – Loosen up and find the rhythm in your drawings. Understand how to simplify the figure and find your own voice drawing.

This class is all about making figure drawing fun, approachable, and doable. Whether you're new to figure drawing or looking to take your skills to the next level, this masterclass will deepen your understanding of the human form and enhance your artistic expression.

How this works

After each session you will receive homework, which you are encouraged to finish in the week between each session. You will receive access to a private Discord group on the Drink and Draw Server, where you connect with the other class mates online and also receive personal feedback from Julian between the sessions.

As a complete beginner i learned so much and greatly improved. Julian is a kind, astute and generous teacher, who gives clear instructions and guidance, as well as lots of encouragement. Highly recommend!!

The masterclass with Julian was a huge asset in my figure drawing journey. There was a great deal to absorb during the four-week course. The drawing demos were helpful, the communication was fluent, the models were gorgeous, and the group setting was friendly and cozy. It all contributed a lot to my overall satisfaction with my final results.

The masterclass with Julian was a ton of fun and I can heartily recommend it to anyone who might be on the fence. Even though I had heard of many of the concepts from online resources or books, he made some of them click in my head in a way that I couldn't have done on my own. Julian also created a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the drink and draw venue, you could see that he wanted to be there and watch you progress, wherever you might be skillwise. All in all a great experience and community!

I really appreciated the time Julian took to look at everyone’s work and comment it. Also the opportunity to get feedback on discord is very nice and helpful.

Julian is an amazing teacher, I learned a lot during this class. I started out with messy lines, lots of them and during the last class I managed to do cleaner lines, with correct shadows and the progress was mind blowing! Thank you so much for everything! :)
